Heading east on the Atlantic Road, the first bridge you come to is Vevangstraumen. A short and stout bridge just 10metres high and 119metres long. Joining the small village of Vevang to Straumsholmen Island it crosses a narrow strip of water. Looking totally different from every angle this bridge curves in every plane.
Nearby is the Orca Dive Centre, a fantastic place to start exploring the waters around these islands and to find some unexpected white granite sculptures, abandoned in a car park or maybe just waiting for the right home. Maybe I am wrong but these look like a fish and whale fluke to me…..
Above and below the surface this landscape if teeming with life, colour and dramatic landscapes.
